Established in 1909, the Dunbartonshire and Argyll Ladies' county golf association (DALCGA) encompasses an area stretching from the shores of Argyll to East Dunbartonshire, where members have had the opportunity to play a variety of courses, such as Douglas Park, Milngavie, Machrihanish, The Carrick, a Scottish Open Championship course in Cardross and many more.
The DALCGA is a signed up member of the Women in Golf Charter (WIG) and a signatory to Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH) Physical Activity and Sport Charter, (Click on the links to view each charter). In doing this, the County is committed to, providing playing opportunities for competitive golf within a friendly and social environment, nurturing the talents of junior girls and developing opportunities for the best players in the county. This is against an ethos of recognising golf is an excellent form of physical activity, which can have a huge, positive impact on our mental health.
The D&A is very proud of its long history of nurturing the talents of many golfers at all levels, many of whom have gone on to perform at national and international level, notably Belle Roberstson MBE, Janice Moodie, Claire Hargan, Anne Laing, Kylie Henry (nee walker), Suzanne and Gladys Cadden and more recently Lorna McClymont , to name but a few. However, you do not have to reach this level to be extended a warm welcome by Dunbartonshire and Argyll Ladies' County Golf Association, so come and join us by clicking on the link to enquire about the eligibility to join.
